New Patients Welcome

We are always happy to welcome new patients and families to our practice.

If you are visiting Blackburn Shoppes Dental Centre for the first time, our team will guide you through the process and make sure you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. During your first visit, we will review your dental history, discuss any concerns you may have, and complete a comprehensive examination to better understand your oral health.

Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with our patients while providing thoughtful, personalized care.

When You Arrive

When you arrive at Blackburn Shoppes Dental Centre, you’ll be greeted by our friendly front desk team who will help you check in and answer any questions you may have before your appointment begins. Our goal is to make every patient feel comfortable and supported from the moment they walk through the door.

To help keep your visit running smoothly, we encourage patients to complete their forms ahead of time when possible. If you haven’t had the opportunity to fill them out in advance, our team will provide the necessary forms when you arrive.

Please remember to bring your insurance information with you. Our administrative team will submit your claim electronically whenever possible to make the process simple and convenient.

Payments & Insurance​

We accept a variety of payment methods to make dental care as accessible as possible.

Our administrative team is happy to assist with insurance claims and will submit them electronically when possible. Coverage varies depending on your individual insurance plan, so we encourage patients to review their benefits or contact our office if they have questions.

If you have any concerns about treatment costs or insurance coverage, please speak with our team. We are happy to help clarify the process.

Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

We accept patients covered under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), a federal program that helps make dental care more accessible.

  • You do not have private dental insurance
  • Your household income falls within the eligible range
  • You’ve delayed dental care due to cost

Whether you’re visiting us for a routine cleaning, dental exam, restorative treatment, or an emergency appointment, our team is committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care. During your visit, your dentist and hygienist will assess your oral health, discuss any findings, and explain treatment options clearly so you can make informed decisions about your care.

Feeling Nervous?

If you feel anxious about dental appointments, please let us know. Dr. Plant has extensive experience helping patients who feel nervous about dental care. Our team takes a calm, supportive approach and uses techniques to help both children and adults feel comfortable during treatment. Sedation options may also be available when appropriate.

After Your Appointment

Before you leave, our team will review any recommended next steps and help schedule your next visit if needed. For many patients, this may include booking your next exam and cleaning to support your long-term oral health.
